Fedora Digital Prize 2021: Discover the winning project
We are delighted to announce the winner of the Fedora Digital Prize 2021: Out of the Ordinary by Irish National Opera!
Out of four nominees, an independent jury of experts, including the IMZ, awarded the project Out of the Ordinary due to their visionary approach in the field of opera + ballet in the digital field as the clear winner. The project is the world’s first-ever Virtual Reality community opera, created by Irish National Opera and involving three disparate communities across Ireland. The IMZ warmly congratulates the artistic team on this very experimental + unique project, combining the use of virtual reality and reaching new audiences!

Thanks to the great collaboration with FEDORA, the platform aiming at nurturing European innovation + creativity and at increasing the reach and accessibility of opera + ballet.
The FEDORA Digital Prize intends to encourage artistic innovation in opera + ballet through digital experimentation and to advocate new ways of interactions with audiences through digital tools and performance. Furthermore, the goal is also to trigger new collaborative approaches through digital innovation across different media.
